Jantar Mantar Delhi

Jantar Mantar is an observatory, which was built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the year 1724 to help and improve the study of time and space. It is located in Connaught Circle Parliament Street, Delhi. Apart from Delhi, Maharaja Jai Singh had also built Jantar Mantar in Jaipur, Ujjain, Varanasi, and Mathura. In Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, there are three various instruments are installed, namely Samrat Yantra, Jaiprakash, and Misra Yantra.
Samrat Yantra is a giant triangle with 70 feet in height, 10 feet in width, and 114 feet in length. This Yantra is capable to measure the exact time of day with an accuracy of half a second. Although at that time, the solarium was used to measure the time but it was not much accurate as Samrat yantra. Later it was also used to measure the angles in the planets. Jaiprakash Yantra is a hollow sphere structure, which helps the observer to align the position of a star with different markings. Misra yantra is designed by Maharaja Jai Singh himself, to determine the shortest day of the year. The last yantra is Ram yantra which represents the two circular buildings to the south.
Purana Quila

Purana Qila, which is one of the popular places in Delhi, is built by Sher Shah Suri in 1538. This fort was the part of Din Panah city built by Humayun. Sher Shah Suri captured Humayun’s Din Panah city and changed its name to Shergrah. But after the death of Sher Shah Suri, Humayun captured this fort again.
After him, many other rulers ruled on this fort, till it was captured by the British. In the 2013-14th excavations by ASI, it is found that the fort was built around the 3rd century during the Pre-Mauryan Empire. Purana Qila has three entrances i.e., Humayun Darwaza, Bara Darwaza, and Talaki Darwaza. National Zoological Park or Delhi Zoo
